When you start out as a new rider in the competitive world of cycling there’s a lot to learn. Most of this isn’t the sort of stuff you can learn from a book. Sure, you can learn the theories this way, but putting it into practice in the real world is another level all together.
This package will start the process of making sure you start to build an armoury of all the physical attributes you’ll need as well as guiding you through all the strange etiquettes of bike racing through help and hands on guidance and advice from everyone in the Project 51 Family.
We’ll help you with everything you need to know when you start out racing. As well as being on hand to help with all the technical parts such as bike fit, riding technique and equipment//
Initial face to face get-together to discuss-
· All about you as a person to establish your available time to train & recover.
· Current level of cycling experience.
· Your cycling & sports history.
· Current fitness levels.
· What you love about cycling.
· Your targets.
· Your perceived strengths & weaknesses.
· A date going forward to carry out a Fitness test to be conducted with us to establish the correct training levels to be set and a starting point to monitor progress.
Service Provided -
· Yearly outline of training phases based around your goals.
· Training phases planned and explained in advance.
· Comprehensive monthly training plan, through Training Peaks, set in advance working towards goals and planned around work/life commitments
· As much daily feedback as required through the Training Peaks platform.
· Monthly phone call to discuss the past week, upcoming training and any other questions.
· Regular fitness testing.
· Skills technique sessions with the Project 51 Family of riders if required.
· Race/Ride attendance and analysation.
What do you need?
· A computer or laptop to record training data.
· Your own Training Peaks account (Basic or premium),
· A GPS cycle computer and heartrate monitor
· A power meter is not required at this stage of a riders development, but will certainly be of benefit if you have one.
· An indoor turbo trainer.
· A set of rollers is advised, but optional.
